    Charleston Express: Wednesday, April 4, 2007 10:36 AM CDT Mary S. Schmitz, 96, of Paris died Thursday, March 29, 2007, in a local nursing home. She was born November 13, 1910, in Logan County to Charles Schmalz and Matilda Gack Schmalz. She was a retired nurse's aid, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris, Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary and the widow of Edward Schmitz. Rosary was held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris. Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris with burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery in Paris under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home of Paris. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Frieda Schmalz of Paris and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Mike, Danny and Larry Schmalz, Glynn and Tom Frederick and Chad Lunsford.
