General Notes: Louis Ehrbar was the son of Elizabeth Hummer and Peter Ehrbar. He enlisted in World War 1 as a private on August 9, 1917 and served in the Motor Ambulance Co. #48 of Camp Lee, Virginia. and was honorably discharged in December 30, 1918 as a Sergeant (as of July 22, 1918). He met Isabella ( Belle ) through correspondence while he was serving in the Army. They were married in Toledo, Ohio after he returned from the service. He was a sign painter by profession. After Belle's death on November 18, 1938 in Toledo, he married Mary H.Vonderau in Winchester, Virginia on May 21, 1940. They later moved ot Los Angeles, California. She died in 1950 in California. He spent several years of his later life in veteran's Hospitals in Los Angeles, California before his sister, Catherine, and her husband Bill McClusky brought him to the V.A. Hospital in Cleveland and from there he was transfered to the Kingsville County Nursing Home in Kingsvile, Ohio where he died of ArterioSclerotis and Heart Disease. He was buried in the Union Cemetery, Rock Creek, Ohio. As a young man, he was short and stocky, about 5 feet 8 inches. Noted Events In his Life:

Louis next married Mary NEAL on May 21, 1940 in Winchester, Winchester (city), Virginia, USA. (Mary NEAL was born on February 25, 1889 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, USA, died on October 14, 1950 in Venice, Los Angeles, California, USA and was buried in Los Angeles California - Holy Cross Cemetery.) |
