He was born in Canton, Ohio, to John Lewis and Anna Marie (Klingenstein) Deex on Oct. 15, 1954. He worked as a machinist at Portage Electric Products before opening his own shop "Deex Machine & Tool" which he ran for many years. Preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by one aunt, Ruth Fife; and his faithful German Shepherd "Ultra". Chris was an extreme collector of guns, books, pottery, antiques, automobiles and motorcycles. He was a winemaker, distiller, wood carver, gunsmith, folk artist, and history buff. Besides cigars and bourbon, he also enjoyed going to flea markets, gun shows, and garage sales in search of "the big find". He was a past member of the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association and various automobile and motorcycle groups.
