    Howard had two wives, Anne and Louise. There is some confusion about their maiden names that was not resolved.

    The LDS site lists Howard's marriage to Anne Augusta WILSON and the California Death Index confirms her middle name, Augusta. The California Death Index lists Fannie Louise's father's last name as AMES. Since Anne and Louise were sisters it could be that Anne and Louise had different fathers or maybe Anne's last name of Wilson came from a previous marriage.
